Designed by Studio East Architects in Perth, this five-bedroom new-build home was created to complement the surrounding traditional agricultural buildings while making the most of its elevated southerly aspect. Expansive glazing maximises the sweeping views, while an overhanging roof and veranda help to reduce solar gain and prevent overheating.
The use of natural stone and timber cladding, along with timber doors and traditional sash and case windows, gives the property a traditional appearance. Heating is provided via an air source heat pump and underfloor heating, with both solar PV and solar thermal panels harnessing the southerly exposure to improve energy efficiency and reduce running costs.
